Saturday Morning Cartoons - Baby Boomers Era

Post by Sharon

There was nothing like curling up and watching Saturday morning cartoons as a kid. I recall spreading out my lavender flannel blanket on the floor, grabbing a huge bowl of Cocoa Puffs and watching my favorites.

Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes were standard replays for Baby Boomers' childhoods.

Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny were always faves.

Remember Popeye? Many were made in the 1930s, but even black and white cartoons were a blast!

The Jetsons were a staple of most viewing -

The Flintstones were our family!

Who didn't want to be Jonny Quest?

And, we all wanted that van and those ghost-chasing friends from "Scooby Doo Where Are You?"

Casper was a guilty pleasure.

Woody the Woodpecker was such a cutie!

I always felt sorry for the coyote, but that roadrunner was a delight!

Felix was such a cool cat!

I had to giggle at Huckleberry Hound -

Tom and Jerry were like family -

Thunderbirds always creeped me out. I'd watch it from behind the sofa.

George of the Jungle - watch out for that tree!

Gigantor -

We'd love to hear what your favorites were. I am going to put together a compilation playlist on YouTube, so I can recreate the favorites some Saturday morning with my upgrade from Ovaltine to a latte.
