The Freakiest But Most Beautiful Places in the World

 


Glass Beach, Fort Bragg, California. This is just one of the many bizarre-looking places in the world. The adage, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is enacted at this beach that decades ago was a dump and today is tumbled glass.

Red Beach, Panjin, China. The seepweed plants in the area grow profusely, they also drink from the saline waters, turning their foliage red. 


Goblin Valley State Park, Moab, Utah.
The sandstone in this region has been exposed to winds and water, but various degrees of wear, creating bizarre goblin-looking shapes over the eons. 



Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone Park, Wyoming. A combination of bacteria and algae with colorful prisms, the hot water from the spring feeds the algae, creating different colors depending on the type. 



Zhangye Danxia Landform: Gansu, China.  Sandstone and minerals combined over millions of years to create colorful streaking. It was just the right kind of geological alchemy to please the eye.

The Sea of Stars: Vaadhoo Island, Maldives. In the late summertime, conditions are such that plankton's  bioluminescence lights up the waters.
