End of Summer Beauty Routine

The shift from summer's humidity, heat, sunshine, skin and hair exposure to the elements and into the moisturizing, warming vibes of autumn's cocoon is a yearly ritual.

Your feet were likely barefoot or in sandals, exposed to the weather, dry air-conditioning, pool chlorine, and more. They may be cracked. They likely ache. The very best thing you can invest in is a foot tub with bubblers, heat, and massage, some tea tree oil or epsom salts to put in the water, and a good foot lotion, warm socks.

It's not just your feet that took the brunt of summer, your skin and hair probably took the biggest hit. Hair goes through the humidity of summer and into a drier climate in fall. Hair that bleached out can be brought to richer autumn notes. Adding a leave-in conditioner to the regimen is a good idea.

Skin really takes a summer beating from sweating, heat, sun exposure, and air-conditioning's drying effects. Start using an in-shower lotion after washing. It leaves a soft oily moisture to the skin.

If you want the best body scrub ever - take a jar and put used coffee grounds in it and coconut oil. Use this in the shower to exfoliate skin and leave it super super silky1

There are many more rituals that can enhance the transition. Slow down the pace. Turn down the lights. Light autumn candles. Pull out some soft bath towels and run a bath. Add some essential oils, fir are all good scents). Listen to some spa music (above).  Hydrate with matcha tea

Take the time to exfoliate and loofah, finishing off with a rich skin cream.
