Summer may feel like it never freakin' ends, but you can go ahead and plot out your September shift to the darker seasons.

Summer did a number on hair and skin. Your outer parts are fried. Consider giving yourself a haircut. I tried this video's methods and it came out great!
Now that you got rid of the dried bits and layered it up a bit, try a richer hair color for the season. Use semi-permanent to last several washings. Think warm tones of caramel, sienna, or burgundy...
You are now transitioning to using the heater and perhaps the fireplace or wood-burning stove. The air in your home will become very dry. It's time to consider a conditioning body butter bar in the shower along with your lotion regimen after the shower. I'd suggest a body wash and lotion that inspire the scents of the season.
Since it's becoming bath soaking season, find a great bath salt with a nostalgic autumn scent and a good bath pillow. Make this your retreat to warm up and relax before sleep. The steam is great for your face too, so put a sheet mask on and wash it off when you're done.
A good's night sleep shouldn't be hard with a long dark evening, but the release of melatonin to initiate sleep occurs when light levels are low as the pineal gland is associated with your vision to detect darkness arriving. Start darkening your space before bedtime. Consider a simple candle's glow with an autumn scent.
A sleeping eye mask is an easier and cheaper way to enjoy darkness when you sleep versus sun-blocking curtains. It also can curl your lashes as you sleep. Open your eyes behind the mask and slowly drag the lashes along the mask as you close your eyes. This works amazingly.
Try some beautiful rich earthy colors on your nails this season.
With people at home more and working from home, the environment there is critical for relaxing and getting in the mood. A home spa experience is a fantastic one. Consider an inflatable jacuzzi for your back patio or back yard. It is a fantastic investment.
If you tend to get seasonal-affective disorder from lack of sun exposure, consider doing some color therapy with a collection of colored glasses. Wear them while you're relaxing depending on what emotion you want to evoke.
And, don't forget your vitamin D! With you getting out in the sun less and it being contagion season, vitamin D is one of the most critical elements for your immune system!
Steam up a cup of hot chai tea - the perfect season start!
Here's my favorite chai eggnog cookie recipe -
Chai Tea Eggnog Cookies
1 chai tea bag
1 (17.5-oz.) package sugar cookie mix
1/2 cup melted butter
1 large egg
4 tablespoons eggnog, divided
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Remove tea leaves from tea bag; discard bag.
2. Stir together tea leaves, cookie mix, butter, egg, and 2 Tbsp. eggnog until well blended.
3. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Flatten dough slightly with bottom of a glass dipped in cinnamon sugar.
4. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheet to a wire rack, and cool completely (about 10 minutes).
5. Whisk together powdered sugar, nutmeg, and remaining 2 Tbsp. eggnog until smooth. Spoon over cooled cookies.
