Anticipating Springtime

Yeah, it's the middle of winter, but you fantasize about putting your face to the sunlight, putting seed to the ground, and simple pleasures like picnics and fresh flowers.

Here's some simple ways to begin the mental and physical transition -

*Light.

Bring the light in - lighter window coverings, brighter indoor lighting at nighttime.

pillowcovers (amazon)

*Pastels.

Robin's egg blue, mint green, pastel pink, peach, sunny yellow - all tones that scream SPRINGTIME. Think of changing out pillow covers for florals and change the sofa lap blankets to lightweight fabrics and happy Easter-like colors.

*Botanicals.

Herbs in window pots, botanical prints on the walls, plants stacked up on stands and hangers in front of windows.

*Scents.

Scented candles with jasmine and herbs. Natural cleaning products with a eucalyptus/mint scent.

*Fabrics.

A shift from flannel sheets to cotton or linen, switching area rugs for sisal rugs, sheer curtains versus heavy ones - all great options.

*Food and Drink.

Arugula, artichokes, berries, mint, beets, carrots, asparagus, peas, greens, spinach, radishes,
