Since everything has been done before, sometimes the best way to bring a fresh look to fashion is to bring back something from the past at a time when it seems novel and new. Scarves and vests are two autumn components worth bringing back.

Here's some ideas on how to tie a scarf - 

I admit, I love using hats, scarves, and vests as ways to add one unique thing to an otherwise neutral and basic outfit. The more you go monochromatic or plain with no features, or solid colors, the more these things pop against it. I've been known to use a fishing wicker basket as a purse or welding glasses for sunglasses. You don't need to costume-out your look, but that one thing that makes people go - wow! I have not seen that in the clothing stores, is a way to show you go the extra mile.
