Putting in a Greenhouse

BEFORE

AFTER

Post by Julie

My husband and I have lived in our house for two years. I wanted a garden, so we got raised beds to put in the back near our shed. The garden did well in the fall, winter and spring, but couldn't handle the very hot summer.

My dream was to have a greenhouse and become a serious gardener. My husband liked the idea so we bought a greenhouse kit off Amazon. We had to clear out the area where the garden was so we could build the greenhouse in its place. Actually, my husband did all the building with my help.

He built the bottom frame so we could figure out exactly where we wanted it. After that, he started putting together the rest of the structure. As it was put together piece by piece, you could finally see what the greenhouse was going to look like and its size.

After it was together, he added pavers to the inside and outside for a sitting area. I then got the task of adding all my plants. I even had to plant more in the empty planters. He then added a mister to regulate the humidity and bubblers to water all the inside plants.

I had more plants that wouldn't fit inside the greenhouse, so I added a back garden. I am excited to see how my plants do and what changes I will have to make to get a flourishing garden.

  1. I may have to give this a try. The sand that I have in the backyard just doesn't make for easy gardening.
